The new 2030 Climate Roadmap is in line with the Paris Climate Agreement objective to limit global warming to 1.5\u00b0C. The company will deliver a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2030(1)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The independent organization Science Based Targets (SBTi) started the evaluation and approval of Tarkett\u2019s greenhouse gas reduction targets in early February.(2)<\/sup><\/p>\n

Tarkett\u2019s Climate Roadmap for 2030 covers reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from its own activities (Scope 1) and its purchased energy (Scope 2) \u2013 as well as those arising from the rest of its value chain, from suppliers to end customers (Scope 3).<\/p>\n

Arnaud Marquis<\/strong>, Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer at Tarkett, declared: “Together with our teams, we have set climate <\/em>targets consistent with the Paris Agreement. Now <\/em>we are working closely with the SBTi to assess <\/em>and approve our targets and to accelerate <\/em>our contribution to a carbon-neutral world by <\/em>2050. These targets are extremely challenging, <\/em>as only 10% of our emissions are linked to our <\/em>own manufacturing operations. The rest comes <\/em>from the use of raw materials, and the treatment <\/em>and incineration of our products at end-of-use. <\/em>Setting these targets for the entire value chain <\/em>is a win-win situation \u2013 it helps to reduce our <\/em>own greenhouse gas emissions and those of our <\/em>customers. We have an important responsibility <\/em>to change the game in our industry. We need <\/em>all our stakeholders to join us on that journey, <\/em>ensuring swift progress.”<\/em><\/p>\n
