André François-Poncet is Wendel’s Group CEO since January 1st, 2018.

In December 2020, Wendel’s Supervisory Board decided to reappoint the Executive Board for a period of four years from April 7, 2021 to April 6, 2025.

Prior to joining Wendel, André was a Partner of CIAM. In 2000 he joined BC Partners (Paris and London) as a Managing Partner first, and then as Senior Advisor from December 2014 to December 2015. He started his career at Morgan Stanley, where he stayed for 16 years: first in New York, then in London and Paris where he was in charge of opening Morgan Stanley’s French office.

He has been a member of the Board of AXA since December 2016.

André graduated from École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) and holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School.

David Darmon
Group Deputy CEO

David Darmon is a Wendel’s Group Deputy CEO since September 9th 2019. He joined Wendel in 2005.

In December 2020, Wendel’s Supervisory Board decided to reappoint the Executive Board for a period of four years from April 7, 2021 to April 6, 2025.

David joined the Executive Board in September 2019. This appointment to the Executive Board comes after spending several years in the United States where he opened the New York office. David is now located in Paris as part of his duties as a member of the Executive Board.

David has managed numerous investments for the Group. He participated in the investment and oversight of companies such as Allied Universal, CSP Technologies, Deutsch, and Stallergenes. David also initiated several investments in the technology sector.

David opened the New York office (Wendel North America), which he led from 2013 until September 2019, when he joined the Executive Board. From 2013 to 2019, Wendel invested approximately $1 billion in the United States. David previously served as Wendel’s corporate Secretary to the Supervisory Board.

Before joining Wendel, David was a Director of Apax Partners in Paris, where he specialized in LBO transactions for six years. He began his career in M&A at Goldman Sachs in London.

He is a graduate of ESSEC and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Jérôme Michiels is the Group’s Executive Vice-President and CFO. He’s also Director of Operational Resources. Jérôme is a member of Wendel’s Management Committee and a voting member of the Investment Committee. He joined Wendel in 2006. He is a Board Member of Bureau Veritas, IHS and Stahl.  

Jérôme joined Wendel at the end of 2006 as Investment Director and was promoted to Director in January 2010. He was appointed Managing Director on January 1, 2012 and joined the Investment Committee at this date.  Jérôme was appointed Executive Vice-President on September 11th 2019, after being appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Wendel group on October 1, 2015.

From 2002 to 2006, he was a chargé d’affaires with the investment fund BC Partners. Prior to that, he worked as a consultant in the Boston Consulting Group from 1999 to 2002, carrying out strategic missions in Europe, particularly in the fields of distribution, transportation, telecommunications and financial services.

Jérôme is a graduate of HEC.

Josselin de Roquemaurel is Executive Vice-President and Managing Director. He is also member of the Investment and Management Committee. He joined Wendel in 2018. He is Board member of Constantia Flexibles and Cromology.

Before joining Wendel, he was a member of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in London where he worked between 2005 and 2017, most recently as a Director responsible for PE activities in France.

He started his carreer in 2001 at JPMorgan in London as an Analyst and then as an Associate in Corporate Finance.

He is a graduate of Ecole Normale Supérieure in (Fontenay / Saint-Cloud) and HEC.

Board Member of Stahl

Félicie Thion de la Chaume is an Executive Vice-President and Managing Director. She is a member of the Investment and Management Committee. She joined Wendel in 2007, as an Associate part of the Paris Investment Team.

Félicie started her career at Goldman Sachs on the firm’s French M&A team between 2003 to 2006.
Since she joined Wendel, she has been involved in several transactions including Deutsch, Helikos, Saham and Stahl.

Félicie relocated to the United Kingdom in 2016 to contribute to the opening of the London office, an office which she later headed until 2020.

In September 2019, Félicie has been promoted Executive Vice-President. Since September 2020, Félicie has joined the Paris investment team in line with the Group’s strategy to concentrate its teams in France, Luxembourg and New York.

She graduated from ESCP Europe.

Board Member of Bureau Veritas

Christine Anglade Pirzadeh is the Director of Sustainable Development and Communication. She is a member of Wendel’s Management Committee and an Advisor for the Management Board. She joined Wendel in 2011. Christine is a Board Member of Bureau Veritas.

Before joining Wendel, Christine was Director of Communication of the French Financial Markets Authority’s (AMF) which she joined in 2000. She was Policy Officer with the French Prime Minister’s Office (Direction des Media) from 1998 to 2000. She began her career in the editorial staff of la Correspondance de la Presse.

Christine holds a Master in European and International Law of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and a Master Degree in Communication law from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University.

Board Member of Cromology

Caroline Bertin Delacour is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. She joined Wendel in 2009, first as the Head of Legal Affairs. She’s also a member of Wendel’s Management Committee. She’s a Board Member of Cromology.

She used to be an Attorney for the law firm August & Debouzy, where she dealt with Mergers & Acquisitions and corporate law from 1998 to 2009. Prior to this, she was a Tax Lawyer at Clearly Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton from 1988 to 1998.

Caroline is co-author of “Highs and Lows of Modern Finance” (Eyrolles, 2013) and author of “Sovereign Wealth Funds: these new actors of the global economy” (co-published Eyrolles – Les Echos, 2009), for which she received the Turgot New Talent Prize in 2010.

Registered at the Paris Bar between 1990 and 2009, she holds an LLM from New York University (1987), a Master in Taxation from the University Paris V René Descartes (1985) and a Master’s in Business Law from the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas (1984).

She is a Knight of the French Order of Merit.

Board Member of Cromology

Benoit Drillaud is the Depuy CFO of Wendel and leads the financial and accounting team. He’s a member of the Management Committee. He joined the Group in 2004. Benoit is a Board Member of Cromology.  

Prior to joining Wendel, he has worked as an auditor for PriceWaterhouseCoopers for 5 years.

He is a graduate of a Master of Finance from ESCP and a DEA in Economy of the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Peter Meredith is Tax Director. He is also a member of the Management Committee. He joined Wendel in 2013.

Before joining Wendel, Peter was Tax Director of Bouygues Construction (2005-2013); of Capgemini (2000-2005) and of Group GTM (1989-2000).

Alexina Portal
Director of Human Resources

Alexina Portal is the Director of Human Resources. She is a member of the Management Committee. Alexina joined Wendel in 2020.

Alexina’s arrival is part of Wendel’s plan to transform the HR function. She focuses her skills on turning the HR function into a competitive strength. Her role includes both redefining HR procedures and implementing specific projects in recruiting, training, diversity, employer branding as well as quality of life at work and organizational culture. Alexina works with the Executive Board in supporting portfolio companies.

Since 2004, before joining Wendel, Alexina has acted as Transformation Programs Director for diverse organizations in sectors as varied as manufacturing (plastics, packaging, cabling, cosmetics, agri-food), services (auditing, communications, consumer goods) and IT systems (software companies, distributors, advisory services). Prior to that, she served as an internal auditor, as well as education services director and marketing and communications director for Oracle’s PeopleSoft division.

She is a graduate of INSEAD (IEP) and a Doctor in organizational behavior.
