As soon as it is able to re-open, the Centre Pompidou-Metz will present an exhibit devoted to Marc Chagall that explores the importance of stained-glass windows in the artist’s work.

The exhibit displays scale models of the stained-glass windows Chagall created for numerous buildings between 1958 and 1984. The models will be viewed alongside a group of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and drawings from the collections of the Centre Pompidou, the Musée National Marc Chagall, and from other international museums and private collections.

Chagall. The Emissary of Light is part of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the cathedral of Metz, in which several stained-glass windows were created by Marc Chagall.

The quality of the exhibit has already been acclaimed by the press.
